Unilateral Approach to Bilateral Middle Cerebral Aneurysms

Abstract


Background: The aim of presenting this case is to evaluate the technical viability of unilateral approach to simultaneously clipping of bilateral aneurysm of MCA.

Materials and Methods: 54 years old female presented with SAH grade IV, after treatment of vasospasm and good condition. Angiography revealed three aneurysms of right, left MCA and anterior commissure after 20 days of SAH and with GCS=15, unilateral approach was performed and clipped 3 aneurysm in one cession.

Results: Obliteration of contralateral aneurysm was possible. The patient didn’t show any complication.

Conclusion: The unilateral approach to treat BMCA is a technically viable procedure, however it requires experience and cadaver dissections.
